Wheels down at Praha. Then the Vltava.

Out of Hong Kong on a Friday evening, Vienna by lunch, Praha hlavní nádraží by tea. Lilacs already open in Letná park, white asparagus on every chalkboard, Habsburg facades freshly washed by spring rain. Ten nights ahead chasing the EuroCity line east — Vltava to Danube, four borders, never a flight in between.

Liszt Ferenc by morning, Vienna by noon, Hong Kong by the next dawn. Ten nights — every one of them yours, the trdelník smoke and the paprika and the lilacs already half-remembered.
